BLACK is based on words and phrases used in the Chicago working class African American community. This project seeks to educate people both within and outside about the various linguistics histories used in the urban community. Each word is paired with a literal definition and a slang representation. Using humor as an opener to bring up discussion about the current state of racism in America, I invite my audience to connect language of different subcultures.
